Artek's Stool 60, designed by Alvar Aalto, is a classic icon of Finnish furniture design. The same fan sawn birch leg bending technique is still employed today for crafting the wood frame with thin plywood glued into grooves. After steaming or heating, it will dry into a strong texture perfect for joining to the seat.
